How Secure is Slate Lock ?
Slate Lock function as a regular padlock which can only be opened by scanning your fingerprint. Never again you need to worry whether you've forgotten to bring your key, forgot where did you put it, or perhaps even lost it somewhere. And never have to go to the locksmith to make duplicate keys for your kids & family members (Slate Lock can store up to 10 fingerprint access database).
What happened if the battery is dead or someone tries to take out the battery – will the lock still function ?
By default Slate Lock will always be at “LOCK” position, which mean even though the battery is dead or some criminals tried to take out the battery, the padlock will still be in “LOCK” position – which mean you no need to worry; just need to replace the battery & since your fingerprint data will still intact, just need to scan your fingerprint to UNLOCK again afterward. (it is advisable to replace the battery regularly every 3-4 months so that you no need to face the hassle of battery dead during usage).

Received it right at my doorstep a day before Christmas – perfect present for grandparents. Configuration is a breeze & very user friendly. Has been using it until now & works like a charm. ReplyDeleteI have one Major Complaint ; WHY THE HELL THEY DID NOT START SELLING THIS SOONER!!! This product is so useful & I don’t think I would want to carry my keys anymore. I work as a guard for locker rental in one of the amusement park in Jersey. My job is to taking care the 100+ lockers which are being rented temporarily by visitors to place their belongings. Imagine I need to carry all the keys everywhere I go; now with Slate Lock, I just need to record my fingerprint as master key & customer’s fingerprint as additional access & it’s done. No more extra baggage to carry those keys which weight like a ton….. And customers are happy too, since they will never be charged for lost keys when they want to collect back their belongings upon exiting the park.

ReplyDeleteI was skeptical at first, but after getting one for myself & have been using it for almost half year now, couldn’t be more happier.
ReplyDeleteIt can even record multiple fingerprints (I recorded my left & right thumbs as backup) & can still store alternate user fingerprints including my kids. Configuration was a breeze, especially for non tech-savvy housewife like me. And it comes with emergency keys also (who knows when you might need one – even though you can always call the locksmith, but at least they also can think of this simple yet very useful facility to include on their design & product).
